On December 5, 2009, Chris and Cristina Forrester are going home to Florida with a dream of raising money for the Mansion. Every year in Tupelo, we do a Mansion 5K Run in an effort to raise funds.
Chris and Cristina have both participated in these past events. Together, they helped raise money in Tupelo with the support of businesses and corporate sponsors as well as personal sponsors. Now they want to do their own 5K race for the Mansion, and the good news is they want you on their team!
Chris and Cristina came to call the Mansion their home three years ago after their mother’s long battle with cancer took her life. The Forrester twins are confident young people who have decided to make a difference in their world.
With your help, they believe that they can help raise $100,000.00 to help support the very place that they call home. This is going to be their Christmas gift to the Mansion.
As you read this letter, the Forrester twins are personally in the process of raising 100,000.00 for this event. You see, they wouldn’t dream of asking you to do anything that they wouldn’t do themselves. They are also training to run their best race, with the goal of bettering the lives of the very children who they share a bedroom, a classroom, or a residence hall. Instead of talking about “one day giving back to TCM,” they have decided to make a difference NOW! They want to impact the children they rub shoulders with everyday, as well as those who are only months, days or even minutes away from calling the Mansion their home, too.

I don’t know about you, but when two 16- yr-olds get this inspired…it makes me want to get out and help change the world, too! You don’t have to actually run in this race, but we can all get behind them by becoming a Mansion Champion! Go to www.mansionevents.org and make a donation, make a pledge or get more information on how you can get involved in this event!
PLEASE NOTE that all donations and pledges for the Chris and Cristina Mansion Champions event need to be in the TCM office no later than December 18, 2009 so we can get the final tally and allow Chris and Cristina to make their presentation to the entire staff and all the children.
Another great way to “get behind” the kids is to join the “100 Mighty Men” program where you give a gift of $1,000.00 or more. 100 Mighty Men is a very unique and elite group of men who are blessed to be a blessing to the least of these. Several men like Matt Maddix, Tim Sistrunk, Melvin Ramsey, Tim Vowell, Rashidi Collins, Sam Hassas, and many more have caught the vision.

Jerika Tieman of Groveport, OH, has activated her youth group at Turn Point Church and they are having a benefit concert November 13th with all the proceeds going to the Tupelo Children’s Mansion!
Make a donation, challenge your friends and family to give, take up an offering or come up with your own fundraiser to help sponsor Chris and Cristina so that you can be listed with the many Mansion Champions! Take pictures of your church, youth group or business in action and email them to burtongaar@mansionkids.org, so that we can post them on our website and Facebook!
